- many years experience all phases interior/exterior painting. Back in the saddle as a housepainter after an hiatus ( studio/gallery for a few years, outside maintenance for a few). I work solo, and as I'm in my 6o's and half-a-step slower than I was, say, twenty years ago, I charge the very reasonable rate of $170/day ( I've recently added $20 to my daily rate : gas prices ). Since April have completed a large ( four + stories ) exterior, scraping, sanding, 'peel-bond' primed, oil primed and finish coated/ Decks sanded down to bare wood & finish coated/Seventies-era interior/Deck ( few days ago-1st deck of the season! )sanded & repainted. Have done everything from working on swing scaffolds (old-school; ropes & pulleys) painting billboards overlooking the Manhattan skyline - to finnicky decorative painting. Can still do strenuous stuff : hard sanding, high ladder work, etc.,
