Job Description Tightrope Interactive is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our team for a position in our Cold Spring office. This role is an opportunity to be an integral part of a small, collaborative, innovation team developing large scale, cloud-based systems that support millions of users (and growing). Organization and a passion for technical excellence are critical attributes for this role, with the ideal candidate being a highly proficient system administrator having demonstrable problem solving abilities. Our DevOps team is a small, talented group, responsible for maintaining and innovating large distributed engineering platforms that support hundreds of products and millions of users. Automation of our system provision and software deployment processes
Monitoring of all of our critical systems, including servers, data stores, and analytics systems (NewRelic/APM, DataDog, Athena/QuickSight, etc.)
Analysis of our platform abilities and demands to constantly improve efficiency & effectiveness
Being an integral part of designing/creating new, cloud-based technology systems/platforms as well as optimizing existing ones
You have a BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
You have 3+ years work experience in a DevOps role or similar ( IT-Ops, TechOps)
You have extensive experience with Amazon/AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, etc.)
You have fluency in one or more scripting languages (Python, Ruby, Bash, etc.)
You have a thorough understanding of how to configure, deploy, manage and maintain PaaS systems (containerization, auto-scaling, monitoring, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and disaster recovery)
You have a solid background working with open source languages and systems, as well as source code management systems (Wordpress, Linux, Apache, Nginx, Java, PHP, MySQL, Git, etc.)
You have great verbal and written communication skills
You love problem-solving and thrive in fast-paced, agile environments
You have experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Salt, or equivalents)
You have experience with containers and orchestration services (Kubernetes, Docker, or equivalents)
You have experience working in Agile and/or Lean environments
Compensation and Benefits
Compensation depends on experience and consists of base salary and quarterly bonuses. Tightrope Interactive provides medical, dental, life and disability insurance, pre-tax commuter benefits, a 401(k) plan, and paid time off.
