Here is a vintage voltage drop resistor made by Columbia Radio Co. in Northridge, California, in its original box, with the part number 12-8PM. It can drop 12 volts to 6 volts for any 6-volt radio using 8 amps or less, and an electrical device using 6 amps or less. It is used primarily to drop the voltage in the pre-1954 cars to run the radio and the windshield wipers.
