Late 1950's Akai 902 Terecorder. Clean and working. I rebuilt the preamp which is why you want to buy an old tape machine. Single motor transport is goofy, better than the old Ampex 600 but still, plenty o' wow and flutter.

Sounds terrific.

No reels included, you need to supply that if you want to use it as a tape recorder. Motor is LOUD, best to disconnect that and use the preamp only.

You'll also need a 120v-100v step down transformer for safe use. This is an old Japanese product so there's no 120v switch. I need to keep mine for the many days I get a Shin-Ei made product on my bench... I see more Univibes than most folks around here!

Excellent cosmetic condition. To recap.... selling for the preamp use only. If you are a magician at making the transport work better than more power to ya. That's outta my wheelhouse.
