Small Black Cat wearing a white, reflective flea collar in the vicinity of Extended Stay America Suites, 55 W Merritt Blvd, Fishkill, NY 12524. She is a formally feral cat that adopted me in 2015. She has a clipped ear to indicate she's already been spayed to cat control groups. I was walking her in the early hours of Jan. 10 when she got spooked and broke free from her harness and ran. She is very shy and skittish and will fight if you attempt to grab her, so please be careful so she doesn't hurt you. She is likely to be missing patches of hair as she pulls out her hair when she is afraid or frustrated and I'm sure she's terrified. Her name is "Princess" and she responds to "pssst... pssst" by meowing and coming closer to you. I am heartbroken as she's been my constant companion since she adopted me.
My thanks to anyone that read this and kept an eye out for Princess. After a little over 24 hours of searching I finally located her again in the wee hours of the morning, chasing a rabbit along the fence line. She stopped dead in her tracks when I called her, but still kept her distance. It took a couple of hours of talking and moving closer an inch at a time to get close enough to pick her up. She was soaked to the bone and shivering badly and didn't fight. I brought her in and dried her off and warmed her up sitting with her on my lap near the heater and then she wolfed down two portions of her favorite food and is now curled up on the bed, sleeping contentedly.
