Flowering Sun Ecology is a small regenerative farm and ecology center in Ellenville, NY. We grow fresh mushrooms, seasonal vegetables, and medicinal herbs with a focus on healthy soil, sustainability, and feeding our community with care.
We are hiring a full-time Mushroom Farm Operations Associate to support the daily work of our mushroom farm. This is a hands-on position that includes cleaning and maintaining production spaces, organizing supplies, preparing mushroom blocks, assisting in our lab and grow rooms, and helping keep daily farm operations running smoothly.
The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, attentive to detail, and comfortable working independently and as part of a small collaborative team. Mushroom-growing experience is not required. We are looking for someone who is willing to learn, follow sanitation procedures carefully, and take pride in maintaining a clean and successful growing environment.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
• Cleaning and sanitizing mushroom grow rooms, work areas, equipment, and tools
• Organizing, restocking, and maintaining farm and production supplies
• Assisting with the preparation and handling of mushroom-growing blocks
• Helping with tasks in our mushroom lab and production areas
• Moving mushroom blocks and supplies between different production spaces
• Monitoring grow rooms and helping maintain clean, organized growing conditions
• Assisting with harvesting, packing, and general mushroom production as needed
• Keeping work areas safe, clean, and ready for daily production
• Following farm procedures for cleanliness, sanitation, and contamination prevention
• Communicating with the team about supplies, maintenance needs, and production tasks
• Helping with other general farm and operations work as needed
WHAT’S NEEDED
• Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain a consistent Monday through Friday schedule
• Organized and attentive to detail
• Comfortable performing repetitive, hands-on tasks
• Able to follow detailed cleaning and sanitation procedures
• Comfortable working in warm, humid, cool, or wet farm environments
• Able to work independently while also communicating well with a small team
• Willing to learn about mushroom cultivation and farm operations
• Able to stay focused and productive throughout a full workday
• Comfortable lifting and carrying approximately 30 to 40 pounds
• Interest in mushrooms, farming, food production, ecology, or natural living is helpful
REQUIREMENTS
• Reliable transportation to Ellenville, NY
• Ability to work full-time, Monday through Friday
• Ability to lift 30 to 40 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods
• Willingness to work around soil, water, agricultural materials, and mushroom-growing equipment
• Commitment to cleanliness, consistency, and careful work
• Three references, including two past or current employers
Previous farming, food-production, laboratory, cleaning, warehouse, or facilities experience is helpful but not required.
