One of my best design hacks in a while.
This dull plastic pedestal column with classical fluting has been given new life with a coat of hammered aluminum paint and a circular stone disc set to the top. A subtle spatter of teal paint adds extra dimension.
The result is quirky take on a classical ornament and quite appealing.
It is suitably sturdy to display a bushy house plant or a special piece.
Find a level floor and a nice quiet corner — away from raucous activity or high traffic — and it’ll do just fine.
The metallic finish does wonders to “ping” in the sunlight or reflect the warmth or cool of the colors surrounding it.
Height: 39-1/2”. (About one meter, or 3’-3-1/2")
Diameter at floor: 12"
Diameter at display surface stone disc = 14"
The column is 7-1/2” in diameter at the bottom and tapers subtly to 6-1/2"
