This very strange, unusual, and cool item is all written in Polish – except for the names of the iconic stars, and director Tony Richardson, which makes it even cooler than if the whole thing was in English! Even the title, The Border, is in Polish! The visual is basically, a bunch of stuff in an exotic sounding foreign language, and “Jack Nicholson”, which is exactly what your eye is drawn to!
And the artwork is fantastic! A skull with a red flower in its teeth and a border patrol hat, that really just looks more like a cowboy hat, which, again, makes it cooler! Stark, dark, and mysterious, like the artist, Terechowicz!
I’ve got the poster framed in a beautiful chocolate/bronze brushed metal frame that gives the whole piece a sort of a “golden chocolate” glow when you look at it in the sun, really lends itself to the entire nature of the poster, and matches and enhances it perfectly! Not a cheap prefab frame either! Custom framing job cost a couplafew hundred bucks alone! The poster is beautiful graphically, and set off by the frame, I could stare at this thing for hours, literally! It’s that cool! It’s got all the right images – skull, Rose, cowboy hat, Jack Nicholson! What more could you ask!
So why am I selling it, you may wonder. The answer is simple! I’ve recently downsized and I have nowhere to hang it, and, in fact, it’s never been displayed, so the colors are as vibrant and striking as the day it was made! I wish I did have room for it. It would look awesome somewhere, but that somewhere is not, unfortunately, in my house, and I’ve recently retired, so I don’t have an office anymore, so, that’s it! Love it, but leavin’ it! If it don’t fit in the house, it’s gotta go! And a lot of cool stuff ain’t gonna fit, so watch these pages, because you never know what kinda cool sh-t is gonna pop up for sale here! But my loss is your gain!
Poster measures approximately 26 ¾ x 38, and will come with the frame and with the glass. You will not find a better example of this poster!
I have not had the poster out of its frame for many years, and I’m not taking it out now. My memory of the condition is that it was mint, but it’s been about 30 years, so I can’t say with absolute certainty, although it certainly looks like it, in the frame, and I’m pretty sure it is.
Thanks for looking and reading.
