Old Britain Castles by Johnson Brothers England: 139 pieces of Pink Old Britain Castles in used and newer condition. Some of the older pieces will have crazing while many pieces seem never used. We bought this set at auction around 50 years ago mainly for display in our corner cupboard while adding a few pieces now and then. There are no reproductions or made in China pieces. Research suggest that these pieces are mid-century up until the late 1950's or early 60's when production was increased because of their popularity. No chips. The majority of pieces have the typical mid-century Britain Castle/Johson Brothers mark while some/not many have a later mark indicating permanence of color under the glaze. This was added for a growing overseas market.
I will include the complete list in an old but updated handwritten scan with other photos. Pink is the most popular color, and this set has some of most beautiful serving pieces not found on web, such as 14" oval platter, 14 1/2" round platter, tea and coffee pots. Asking $700 which is much lower than other asking prices on the web. or best offer. It's time to pass it on. Thanks for looking.
