The history of the Hermann Teddy Bears was born in 1913. On 10/24/13 the two brothers Artur and Max and their sister Adelheid began with the manufacture of their first Hermann Teddy Bear in a small village called Neufang nestled in the mountains of Thuringia near the town of Sonneberg which was at that time the Toy Capital of the World. In 1920 Max Hermann founded his own Teddy Bear company. He moved to the town of Sonneberg, where he developed a renowned name. The Teddy Bears were exported around the globe.
After WWII Germany was divided into East and West. With the excalation of the cold war and the emerging Communist Regime in East Germany, Max Hermann fled from Sonneberg for Coburg. In Coburg Bavaria he started anew and continued the old tradition of his Teddy Bears. In the year 1955 his son Rolf-G succeed Max up to his death in 1995.
This Teddy Bear is made in honour of Max Hermann - 1/20/22-6/19/95 - who died at the age of 73.
