I’ve got a fantastic collection of vintage Reptiles magazines, as well as a few issues, of Reptiles and Amphibians, The Vivarium, Reptile Hobbyist, and about a dozen books on various aspects of keeping reptiles and amphibians as pets.
The Reptiles magazines are mostly from 1995-1996. It’s a nearly complete collection, 16 issues, from December 1994 thru June 1996, with the exception of 3 missing issues in this run, November 1995, February 1995, and February 1996. Reptile Hobbyist is Vol.1, Number 2, from Autumn 1995, and The Vivarium, the magazine of the American Federation of Herpetoculturalists, is from 1995, Vol. 6, Number 6. I also have a couple of issues of Reptiles and Amphibians magazine from the same era, 1995, and an issue of Boy’s Life with a cover story on Chameleons of Madagascar, with great pictures of the herpetological world’s strangest citizens! In addition to all this, I also have about 10 books on various aspects of keeping reptiles and amphibians as pets. Two exquisite volumes on identification, care and breeding of Chameleons, and 7 more on other lizards and snakes. All are in excellent to near mint condition. It’s an amazing wealth of information on the subject, and invaluable for any herpetologist at any level of the hobby! Oh yeah, almost forgot. I’ll throw in a couple of 1995 catalogs from Big Apple Herpetological, a company that sells everything you’ll ever need to maintain your pets.
