Early 1900’s childs desk with matching chair in good restorable condition. This was given to my aunt in 1929 and that date is written under the drawer. I assume the desk is a bit older than that. I would keep it and refinish it but our kids are grown and we have no room for it.
This desk features a rolltop door, 2 lockable drawers (I do not have the key), a pull out sideboard, the compartments inside remove and the chair is the original.
Manufacturer on bottom of chair says “Paris Manufacturing Company - South Paris, Maine – No. 620”
Desk has a rare straight backed chair and not the usual swivel chair normally seen with the 620 desk.
I have not done any restoration or maintenance on it, it is in as received condition. While all there and together, the chair is a bit wobbly and could use a re-glueing, other than that a good sand and stain would restore it nicely. A wonderful piece of Americana to pass forward.
