Again. it's not useful to focus on a moment. I'm a supporter of Obama, but by no means. ( and nor are most), completely lock step with all issues, all the time without criticism or believing in the "messiah", etc.
Critique of a sitting President is not only fair game but necessary in a healthy democracy.

As for being an "improvement", I will await judgement for a while longer. In my view it's pre-mature. The economy, Iraq , Afghanistan and Pakistan are not issues created since January 21, 2009, nor is it reasonable to expect them resolved within 11 months or a year. If by next spring, I don't see a shift on our policy in Afghanistan, Iraq and the economy showing signs of growth in the employment numbers, then I too will join in critiquing the approach applied by this President.

As for health care, I think he's given in more then he should have, as I've written before, I'm on the side of single payer, universal, etc. That's my view. Taking on the massive task of health care reform is not only bold but courageous. Nothing was done to address this during Bush's tenure, even when Repubs ran the congress.
The success or failure of this huge political gamble surely rests on Obama, as will our successes or failures of the aforementioned. What I will give him credit for is his courage to state so, which is as easy to find on youtube, or other tv and radio media.
If I've pre-judged your position, I apologize.
