Individualism vs. collectivism... not at odds (Warwick)

Collective thinking or consideration for the whole is not at odds with individualism. Quite the contrary. They work toward the benefit of both.
Take music for example. Playing music in a group environment is an individual joy that allows for personal expression, freedom of expression, individual growth and self gratification, but it shines brightest when the band ( collective) sounds great as an ensemble.

Michael Jordan scored 50 pts a game and the Bulls hadn't won a championship. Michael Jordan scored 35 points a game, included the other players to support his greatness and they won 6 championships. I'd hardly consider limits on Michael's individualism. But the team winning was sweetest.
