2 yo neutered Redbone Hound, owner surrender as he would have become unpredictable.... although he shows good obedience. He is also said to be housetrained and love everybody. As per admitting handlers, he was extremely well behaved even while receiving his vaccinations. A real beauty. Pictured here as he comes in.

Owner from NYC said he loves, man , women and children but they can't handle him. Perhaps someone with hound experience or land can give him a new home that would be good for a hound. Not even sure if he walked for very long or what. He is on the NYC euthanasia list.

Both boys are true snuggle bunnies! They LOVE human attention and even like to chat every once and a while. I was told that they also really enjoy having their bellies rubbed and will roll over at your feet for it! SO ADORABLE!
They are both 100% up to date on all shots, flea and tick free, tested neg. for feline leukemia/aids, and are litter box trained. The only bad thing is that they are not yet fixed, BUT neither of them have no issues with spraying or marking (and there are plenty of places that will fix cats for a very low cost i.e. local spca or mobile spay/neuter van)
Please get back to me asap (through the craigs list address above) if you, or anyone you know, are interested in one or both of these boys. They are just darling and really need and deserve amazing, loving, forever homes.

Reese is getting along well with the other dogs in his foster home. He will occasionally gently snag a bone from someone else if he can get away with it. Reese will play with the other dogs for brief periods--engaging in a game of tug or chase or running with the others as they pursue a ball. But usually after a few minutes of this, he will wander off on his own to sniff or chew a bone. Reese LOVES to chew bones and will spend quite a bit of time thus engaged. Despite his love for chewing, he has not shown a tendency to chew inappropriate objects. He also enjoys toys and will parade around with a toy in his mouth whenever someone comes in the door.

Reese is from a merle to merle breeding. As a result of this, he has been deaf from birth. Deaf dogs enjoy all the usual canine activities and can be easily trained and communicated with, using signs. Reese carefully watches all that goes on around him and seldom misses much due to his deafness. He knows several hand signals--sit, down, stay, come, watch. He pays attention in quiet environments, but when out and about in public, is very easily distracted. Reese will pull hard on a regular collar, but has done well walking on a Gentle Leader harness. He is housebroken and crate trained. Reese enjoys riding in the car, but can be restless.

Reese does not live with cats. Upon meeting a cat at the vet's office. he approached the cat in a friendly manner and gave him a sniff. He attempted to chase the cat when the cat trotted away across the office.

Due to his exuberant nature, Reese will not be placed with children under 10. During the past six weeks I learned how to handle my bird properly, take him in/out of his cage, proper cage size, the right foods to feed, how to choose the right toys for him. This 2-year-old mix of Boxer and American Staffordshire Bull Terrier is sweet and loving. He expresses his affection for people by gently nuzzling them, even strangers. He's a little friendly with other dogs but likes people more. Though his owner surrendered him because he had no time, he did give Taz some obedience training. Taz KNOWS basic COMMANDS such as to SIT, STAY, and COME, but he pulls too hard on a lead and needs to learn to heel. He also seems to be house trained, doing his business outside when he can. He weighs 51 pounds and is neutered, so you can take him home as soon as you sign his adoption papers. He'll give you lots of love, and you'll give it to him. WE CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY THIS WONDERFUL DOG HAS BEEN OVERLOOKED AT THE SHELTER, BUT HE HAS .... he is such a sweetheart, and he knows his commands ... he can sit, stay and come. He seems totally housetrained. He has a gorgeous soft brindle fur, with a wonderful luster. I love these animals like they are my children and I can not and will not drop them off at a shelter where they would be stuck in a cage for up to a year pending adoption.
